David Sykes, Managing Director is by profession, a chemical engineer who has worked in a variety of diverse businesses in both the UK and USA. David has predominantly filled senior roles and has been a director of three companies and chairman of the board of directors of a fourth.

David has over 27 years experience in FMCG manufacturing, including chemical manufacture, injection and blow moulding, printing, bottling & liquid & powder filling.

His roles have focussed around change management in FMCG companies, helping to improve profitability through reorganisation, restructuring and culture change initiatives.

His experience of lean manufacturing began in the late ‘80’s when he introduced JIT manufacturing into a plastics packaging company.

 

In 1992 he formed JIT Services, a company helping manufacturers apply lean techniques. He then returned to mainstream manufacturing, focusing on introducing lean methods including in-line flow and cell manufacture into a variety of operations.

Most recently, as a lean training consultant, he has facilitated the introduction of lean manufacturing into a non-linear FAB in the semi-conductor industry.

 The Training Dept. Ltd

John Barnacott is a Bachelor of Education, Professional trainer, Industrial Psychologist, but first and foremost a Business Improvement Facilitator. John is Managing Director of the Training Dept. Ltd which is the accredited centre for the Institute of Packaging NVQII in Packaging Operations and BIT.

John runs an accredited training centre for City and guilds for those companies who wish to align their training courses to a nationally recognised standard

John is licensed to deliver a number of psychometric testing instruments including NEO-PI Personality Inventory, 16PF, LIFO and specialises in running assessment centres for both recruitment and individual development.  John is also a certified NLP practioner

Most recently he has introduced professional actors into the training   arena to add a new dimension in personal development where realism is essential to the learning process
