This course provides an understanding of the key elements of productivity, its relationship with effectiveness and efficiency and offers a series of tools and techniques which, when applied to any enterprise whether manufacturing, services or the public sector will deliver genuine bottom-line results.

Course content is designed to deliver direct improvements and productivity gains by the application of a proven series of tools and techniques

Programme objectives

By the end of the programme delegates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate their understanding of the relationships between effectiveness, efficiency and productivity
  • Develop and establish business goals and the appropriate KPI’s to track these
  • Use the seven tools of quality to identify opportunities for cost savings through productivity improvements
  • Develop and establish process flow charts for their own organisation
  • Identify bottlenecks and eliminate them.
  • Understand and apply the techniques of Value Stream Mapping and generate a future state map for their own organisation
  • Deliver continuous productivity improvements.

Delivery methodology

A practical 3 day workshop that blends all the required delivery methodologies together including presentations/lectures, group discussions, case studies, problem solving and simulations, participant group discussions, brainstorming and experience sharing.

Questionnaires and inventories for self reflection and learning application will be included and participants will be asked to bring along a real and current problem so they can each take back to work a solution as part of their action plan.
